Finocket vs BUSY

Your books shouldn't wait for the office PC.

BUSY lives on a Windows machine at the office. Finocket lives in your pocket. Record work where it happens, then hand your CA a clean export for final accounts.

What BUSY is great at

BUSY is a mature Windows accounting package with genuine depth: double-entry books, strong inventory, GST returns and a long track record with traders and distributors. For office-desk accounting with a dedicated operator, it holds up well.

Pick BUSY if…

  • You have an office operator doing desktop data entry all day
  • You want decades of Windows keyboard-first muscle memory
  • You need deep inventory features right now

Pick Finocket if…

  • You run the business from your phone, not the office PC
  • You want scan-to-add, voice notes and an AI assistant
  • You want a wrong AI entry corrected the way an accountant accepts: a linked compensating entry, never a deletion
  • You want CRM, outreach and partner commissions with the books
  • You'd rather hand your CA a clean export than a backup file

Finocket vs BUSY FAQ

Finocket now builds trial balance, P&L, balance sheet and cash flow from your books, and exports Tally-ready XML for your CA. The pattern most people use: run Finocket as the daily driver, keep BUSY (or your CA) for final accounts, and reconcile from the export.

Yes, from the Excel BUSY exports (Administration → Data Export Import, or any report → Excel; Basic exports by report). Import & migrate (in Settings) brings your ledgers with opening balances, parties, items, invoices, bills and payments across, with a dry run and a reconciliation against the file's own totals before anything is written, and an undo. Or run the two side by side and let your CA reconcile at period end. Both are fine.

Your CA gets a read-only invite for a live view of your books, plus a hand-to-CA export for any date range, which is cleaner than screenshots or a backup file over AnyDesk.

You reverse it, and the ledger shows both entries. One tap on the AI activity log posts a linked, sign-flipped compensating journal (same date, same ledgers, narrated as a reversal of the original voucher) through the same posting engine, permissions and balance checks a manual entry uses. Nothing is edited and nothing disappears, a reversal can't itself be reversed, and the original can only be reversed once. That one-tap path covers journals the assistant posted and is an owner action; payments, expenses and invoices are undone from their own screens. Separately, every AI action is written to an append-only log the database will not let anyone edit or delete, each row hashed against the row before it so tampering is detectable. That log is in addition to the edit log on your books, not the same thing.
